I started my apprenticeship back in 1982 at Colchester Institute while I worked for John Carr Joinery in Silverend, Essex manufacturing windows, doors and staircases.
After this I moved into the shopfitting industry, working on major retailers and building societies. This led to starting a joint business venture based around joinery with varied work including duty free areas in airports and other retailers in London.
I then moved into the manufacture and fitting of glazed aluminium shop fronts and structural glazed curtain walling for buildings, where I was Factory Manager.
My time in this industry and the skills I have gathered over the years, enabled me to start my own property maintenance business in 2018, with a focus on carpentry, joinery and woodwork restoration, an area which I particularly enjoy.
